New Powrmatic Suspended Gas Heaters

The Challenge

To replace two old, condemned Robur suspended gas heaters which parts are no longer available for anymore and one had been condemned for cracks in the heat exchanger – the client LC Automation needed an efficient and New Powrmatic Suspended Gas Heating System to replace what was already installed.

The Solution

After a visit from Director Andy Smith, who completed a site survey and met up with the head of maintenance, He recommended that both of the old Robur heaters were replaced with new Powrmatic Suspended Gas Heaters and moved to new locations as they would be more effective in the building and areas that people are working daily.

Sticking to gas, as they still have gas on site and it has always been proven to be an effective system, the choice was made to install two new Powrmatic LXF 60 (60Kw) Modulating Suspended Gas Heaters so they are more efficient due to modulation of the burners that work like a modern day boiler and ramp up when needed through the Powrmatic MC200 control panels that control the temperature of the heaters depending on current temperature in the building.

The decision was made also to install five Powrmatic destratification fans fitted with thermostats to blow the rising hot air back down to staff levels – thus saving 25% of current gas usage.

The Result

The quotation was accepted and our inhouse engineers installed the system which caused no effects to production in the warehouse during the time of installation – and the heaters and fans were commissioned by our engineers and a gas safety certificate issued, the client was so happy with the system that they needed a new office boiler to replace the old one which was past its best also and needed replacing. Again, our inhouse engineers also replaced the boiler with a more efficient one and a modern day boiler in the same place as the old one so utilising what could be re-used and included a plate to plate heat exchanger for extra reliability and warranty.
